FAQ
Here, you’ll find answers to our most frequently asked questions about our services and treatments. Whether you’re looking to understand more about our anti-aging solutions or specific wellness treatments, we’ve got you covered.
Botox has been used for many years very safely in various medical conditions such as cerebral palsy and for about 20 years in cosmetic use. Side effects are very rare but allergic reactions and effects on other muscles to those being treated have been reported. In our years of experience, we have found Botox to be extremely safe. It is best to avoid alcohol at least one week prior to treatment. Any anti-inflammatory medications should be stopped two weeks before treatment as well in order to reduce possible bruising.
A Botox Cosmetic treatment requires little time. So it’s possible to have the procedure done during a lunch hour and head right back to the office.
Botox is injected with a fine needle into specific muscles with minimum to no discomfort.
Botox generally takes 7-10 days to take full effect.
The effects of Botox are temporary and lasts up to 3 months. As muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to re-appear and the movement need to be re-treated. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles are being trained to relax.
Botox is not permanent. After the effects of treatment wear off, should you like to come in for another treatment, you may do so at that time. We recommend an interval of at least 3 months. People who regularly use Botox, take good care of their skin, and get good results have said that their expression wrinkles come back less and less noticeably over time.
Botox specifically addresses lines and wrinkles that are caused by movement of the muscles on your face. It does not address skin tone and texture or facial volume, so many patients find that using fillers, chemical peels, or microneedling to stimulate the skin and improve its tone will have a complementary affect with Botox and contribute to a youthful look.
Most people find chemical peels painless. Those with sensitive skin might experience burning or stinging and redness during or after treatment. We have a variety of soothing measures we can take to make the process as comfortable as possible.
How long do you have? We have a range of chemical peel options that we can formulate just for you. Some are light and are doable on the lunch hour, and some are more extensive.
This varies by peel. We advise diligent sun protection post-treatment for anyone who’s received a peel, regardless of strength. Some peels might take around a week to fully recover from, but others give next-day radiant results.
This also varies by peel. For more intensive treatments, the space between them will be longer. Your aesthetician can create a regimen for you that will keep your skin bright and beautiful over time.
We can combine dermaplaning with a peel to enhance exfoliation, and we can also couple a peel with a soothing facial. We typically advise a few weeks of separation between an injectable treatment and an intensive chemical peel, just to ensure that any swelling or bruising from injectable treatments has resolved.
When monitored and guided by trained medical professionals, BHRT is absolutely safe and can improve your health. Millions of women have used BHRT for decades to help them feel their best.
This varies by patient. Many patients will see relief from some symptoms within the first two weeks, while others will take time to resolve. By the first check-in, most patients who adhere to their regimen have begun to see and feel compelling results.
Because your body will never resume producing these hormones on its own, you’ll need to continue BHRT for as long as you want to keep experiencing the benefits of optimal hormone levels.
While treating your underlying hormone deficiencies and imbalances can have an incredible impact on your wellness, we also recommend beginning on a course of supplements, regular exercise, and a healthy diet. With these forces working together, you may begin to feel even better than you did twenty years ago!
After your first session of sclerotherapy, you might need to come back for another session to completely eliminate your spider veins or reticular veins. Sclerotherapy usually eliminates between 50 and 80 percent of problem veins during each treatment. You can expect your spider veins to fade within three to six weeks of the procedure.
Most people say sclerotherapy is not painful, but some patients have reported cramping and or a mild burning sensation after the vein is injected with the saline solution. These sensations usually only last about a few seconds, so there’s no need for a general anesthetic.
Sclerotherapy takes between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on the size and number of veins treated. The procedure simple and is performed in our office. This means you can go home right after the procedure.
Generally, you will start seeing results with Sclerotherapy gradually over three to six weeks, as reticular veins and spider veins begin to disappear.
No, dermaplaning is gentle and completely painless.
As a stand-alone treatment, dermaplaning will only take about 20 minutes. It’s typically coupled with other treatments, like a facial and a peel, that may take longer.
The beauty of dermaplaning is the lack of downtime! You can walk out of the door with smoother skin without irritation or recovery time.
Since it’s so gentle, dermaplaning can be done as often as you get a facial. Because it helps other products penetrate skin more effectively, it can be a powerful addition to your skincare regimen. We recommend once a month or every 4-6 weeks.
Dermaplaning goes with everything! Pair it with chemical peels to enhance exfoliation. Pair it with a facial to help products absorb better. Pair it with fillers to give your newly plumped skin a smoother texture. Our patient educators will help you create the ideal combination of treatments to help you look fabulous.
Treatment with fillers like Restylane doesn’t take long. Many patients can be in and out of the office in an hour, and the procedure itself may take only about 20-30 minutes, depending on your specific regimen.
This depends on the Restylane formula. Most Restylane formulas include Lidocaine, which will help keep you numb and minimize discomfort during and after injection. There will always be some discomfort associated with an injection, whether you’re treated with a formula that includes Lidocaine or not. We apply a topical numbing agent to the area 30 minutes prior to treatment to help alleviate any discomfort.
Results are usually seen instantly, though injection site swelling and irritation immediately after treatment may conceal results for up to 2 weeks for some people. Our medical team will give you guidance on post-treatment care.
Restylane treatment is not permanent. When the effects of treatment wear off, you may choose to come in for another round. Most people space these out by about 6 months. Based on your results, we’ll give you guidance on how often you should undergo treatment to maintain a youthful look.
Restylane treatment is temporary but does last for multiple months, depending on which formula you’re treated with. Most will start to notice that their results are fading around the 4-6 month mark. Some Restylane treatments last longer, even over a year. Ask your provider how long you can expect to see your results.
Restylane is a filler, so it will add volume and minimize wrinkles where it’s used, depending on the Restylane product in question. If you’re dealing with skin texture issues, a chemical peel or custom facial can address your needs. If you’re noticing that your deepest lines are related to your expressions, especially on the forehead, Botox or Dysport might be an additional treatment to consider to relax the muscles that cause those lines to crop up.
Facials usually take 30-90 minutes. We can work with you to create a customized procedure that fits both your needs and schedule. Just ask one of our patient educators and they’ll figure out the perfect facial for you.
We love Skinceuticals, a professional-grade line of cosmeceutical products that utilize a variety of innovative ingredients to nourish, heal, calm, clarify, and smooth skin. We also offer these products for sale at our office, so if you’ve loved something in a facial, you can take it home to keep the great results going.
That’s up to you. We love our repeat customers and are committed to treating them well. We recommend coming in every month for a facial. Your skin will certainly thank you.
Facials, while great for skin, are temporary treatments. You should always be keeping up with your skincare regimen at home, and more invasive measures (like injectables and microneedling) are also available to supplement the improvements in tone, texture, and clarity that facials can give.
No, Hydrafacials are a painless, non-invasive procedure.
Hydrafacials usually last around 30 minutes. We can work with you to create a customized procedure that can be tailored to both your skin and your schedule. Extend the length of your facial to 45 or 60 minutes by customizing your treatment with a booster. We offer boosters for specific skin concerns that meet your individual needs. Ask one of our patient educators and they’ll figure out the perfect facial for you!
Typically, patients see results immediately. We recommend monthly treatments to see full and lasting results.

To see lasting results, one treatment per month is recommended for most patients.
Treatment with fillers like Juvéderm doesn’t take long. Many patients can be in and out of the office in an hour, and the procedure itself may take only about 20 minutes, depending on your specific regimen.
This depends on the Juvéderm formula. XC formulas contain lidocaine, which will help keep you numb and minimize discomfort during and after injection. There will always be some discomfort associated with an injection, whether you’re treated with an XC formula or not. We apply a topical numbing solution to the area 30 minutes prior to treatment to help alleviate any discomfort.

Juvéderm treatments are temporary. Depending on the formula used, you results might last up to 4 months, or potentially over a year. Check with our 4Ever Young medical team to find out how long you can expect results to last for your specific treatment regimen.
Juvéderm is a filler, so it will add volume and minimize wrinkles where it’s used, depending on the Juvéderm product in question. If you’re dealing with skin texture issues, a chemical peel or custom facial can address your needs. Like any injection-based procedure, treatment with Kybella will cause some pain. Additional painful side effects from the product, like burning, swelling, tenderness, or itching may also occur during and after treatment. You may suffer from painful swelling under the chin for days, or even weeks. Because everyone is different, it’s hard to predict how long side effects will last for you. This is not a comprehensive list of side effects.
The treatment process is a series of injections that is done in-office and is very short—taking only 15-20 minutes. There’s no general anesthesia. After treatment, you can simply walk out of the office.
Most will see results within 4 to 6 weeks.
You can have up to six treatments, spaced one month apart. The number of treatments depends on your results and your specific needs. We’ll work with you and monitor your results to determine the perfect number of treatments for the best possible results.
Kybella destroys fat cells. Once destroyed, they can’t come back. If you’re happy with your results, you shouldn’t need to return for additional treatments.
Dysport is approved in 57 countries and has 25 years of clinical experience in both cosmetic and therapeutic uses worldwide. During that time, it has continued to be considered safe. In our experience, patients tolerate Dysport very well.
Treatment is short—10-20 minutes. You can get treated with Dysport on your lunch break and resume your day afterward.
As with any injection, there will be some pain from the needle. We use a small needle and most patients report minimum to no discomfort.
The majority of patients who receive treatment with Dysport see results in as early as 5-7 days but can take up to 10 days for full results.
Like Botox, Dysport is temporary. After the effects of treatment wear off, should you like to come in for another treatment, you may do so at that time. We recommend an interval of at least 3 months. People who regularly use Dysport, take good care of their skin, and get good results have said that their expression wrinkles come back less and less noticeably over time.
Treatment with Dysport typically lasts up to 90 days. Some people will experience results for a shorter time, and some longer. Your pre-treatment symptoms will gradually return as muscles regain normal function in treated areas. Results of repeated treatment are usually comparable to first use.
Dysport specifically addresses lines and wrinkles that are caused by movement of the muscles on your face. It does not address skin tone and texture or facial volume, so many patients find that using fillers, chemical peels, or microneedling to stimulate the skin and improve its tone will have a complementary affect with Dysport and contribute to a youthful look.
Like any injection-based procedure, treatment with Sculptra will cause some pain. Additional side effects from the product, like tenderness, bruising, swelling, redness, bleeding, or itching may also occur during and after treatment.
Treatment with injectables like Sculptra doesn’t take long. Many patients can be in and out of the office in an hour, and the procedure itself may take only about 20 minutes, depending on your specific regimen.
Sculptra is not an instant-results injectable like dermal fillers. It may take several weeks or months for the full volume-restoring and smoothing effects of Sculptra to be noticeable.
Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra can last up to two years. The restorative effects on the skin’s own will endure beyond that point. Sculptra is a long-lasting treatment.
Sculptra restores facial volume and smooths wrinkles, but there are many skin concerns it won’t address. If you desire more volume in your lips or more pronounced results in your cheeks, you should consider a dermal filler like Juvéderm or Restylane.
Treatments are relatively painless. To minimize discomfort, a topical anesthetic is applied 30 minutes before the procedure. This will render the treatments virtually pain-free.
Microneedling takes about an hour. Coupled with other treatments, it might take longer. Ask your medical provider how long you can expect treatment to take.
Microneedling requires preparation and will come with a day or so of downtime. Avoid the sun before and after treatment. Do not wear makeup to treatment, and don’t put it on for at least 24 hours after. You’ll need to avoid swimming, saunas, and exercise for at least 24 hours as well. You’ll look like you have a sunburn and your skin will feel warmer and tighter than normal directly after treatment. This will only last for a few hours. The aesthetician might apply hyaluronic acid and a healing moisturizer to your skin to soothe it directly after treatment. If you’re in doubt about what you can and can’t do after microneedling, be sure to ask your aesthetician.
You’ll see results soon after the first treatment, but we recommend that you come in for 4-6 treatments, spaced about a month apart. This will ensure that your skin continues to improve over time and maximize your results.
We offer a variety of facials to soothe skin and improve its texture and tone along with a microneedling regimen, as well. Many patients pair microneedling with fillers and injectables for a comprehensive approach to their skin’s texture and tone.
Is bioidentical testosterone therapy for men safe?
This varies by patient. Many patients will see relief from some symptoms within the first 2-4 weeks, while others will take more time to resolves.
Because your body will never resume producing these hormones on its own, you will need to continue testosterone therapy for as long as you want keep experiencing the benefits of optimal hormone levels.
While using testosterone therapy to treat your underlying hormone deficiencies and imbalances can have an incredible impact on your wellness, we also recommend beginning on a course of supplements, regular exercise, and a healthy diet. With these forces working together, you may begin to feel even better than you did twenty years ago!
Patients may experience some itching or burning at the site of the injection, mild digestive upset, or an aftertaste. This is all normal, and not a cause for worry. There is a slight risk of allergic reaction with all administered substances, but we carefully monitor for such reactions.
Depending on the injection, you may come in weekly, biweekly, monthly, or at another interval to suit your goals. We’ll determine how often you need to come in based on your body’s condition and the injection you’re receiving.
Depending on your levels of nutrition, you may feel dramatic effects after your first injection. If you’re restoring your body to optimum balance, you’ll begin to feel less and less dramatic effects as your general well-being improves.

Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. While some people find injections to be relatively painless, others will experience brief, slight discomfort.
There are very few medications that interact with our vitamin injections. We conduct a comprehensive medical history in order to verify that you aren’t on any medications that could potentially interact with the substances in the injection.
The beauty of a vitamin injection is how quick and easy the process is! Our injections take no longer than a typical shot. You’ll be in and out in no time! We also offer options for patients to self-administer their injections in the comfort of their own homes.
Patients typically tolerate treatment with glutathione very well and receive benefits from this powerful antioxidant that’s produced naturally in the body without side effects. There’s always a small risk of allergic reaction with any injected substance, but we monitor patients closely and stop treatment immediately if we think there are signs that such a reaction is occurring.
An IV push delivers glutathione directly into the bloodstream. It’s not infused from a bag that depends on gravity, but is actually pushed into the vein using a syringe connected to an IV line. Administration is quick and simple. Glutathione can also be added to any of our IV vitamin drips.
Patients can come in as often as once or twice a week for glutathione, but not everyone needs so much support. Our medical professionals will assess your needs and help you create a regimen that works for you.
Yes, there are steps you can take to support those levels in addition to a push. Eat sulfur rich foods like onions and cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, cabbage, kale). Also consider adding bio-active whey protein to food and smoothies. It’s a great source of cysteine and other amino acids that your body needs to produce its own glutathione.
Exercise also boosts your glutathione levels. Start with 20 minutes of aerobic exercise you love and work up to doing it 5 days per week. N-acetyl-cysteine is a substance that supports glutathione production and can be found in a variety of supplements. Also consider supplementing methyl molecules (folate, B6 and B12). These are at the top of the importance list for the body’s glutathione production. Stress depletes these in our bodies, so we need to re-stock the supply on a regular basis. Consume foods rich in selenium, vitamin C, vitamin E, and consider supplementation. These important antioxidants help your body produce more glutathione as well.
Yes, the bioidentical testosterone in the 4Ever Pearl is safe for women to use. Your body already contains a small amount of testosterone. When monitored and guided by trained medical professionals, BHRT is absolutely safe and can improve your health. Millions of women have used BHRT for decades to help them feel their best.
In most patients, it takes about 2 weeks to notice the benefits of the 4Ever Pearl.
We use local anesthesia to numb the upper hip area to prevent pain during insertion. The incision for the 4Ever Pearl is so small that there’s no need for stiches. All you need is a piece of surgical tape to keep it closed.
Although there isn’t much downtime, we recommend that you avoid physical activity for 3-4 days to allow the incision site to heal properly.
The 4Ever Pearl testosterone pellet usually lasts between 3-4 months and does not need to be removed. It will completely dissolve on its own.
We don’t usually see any side effects in our patients, but sometimes people will experience a cool feeling in the arm and a mineral taste in the mouth. This is all normal, and not a cause for worry. There is a slight risk of allergic reaction with all administered substances, but we carefully monitor for such reactions and will discontinue treatment immediately to keep our patients safe.
Realistically, most people don’t put demands on their body that would necessitate daily IV treatment. Our most frequent visitors come in for a weekly or bi-weekly infusion, but we’ll tailor a therapy to suit your body’s demands.
Depending on your levels of nutrition and hydration, you may feel dramatic effects within 24 hours of your first IV vitamin infusion. People who get regular IVs will feel less dramatic effects as their bodies starts to approach a more optimal hydration and nutritional balance.
Most people find the IV drip process painless. For those who anticipate discomfort, we have ways of making the process easy and comfortable.
Bruising, although not terribly common, does occasionally happen during treatment. Patients who experience bruising will recover in a short time (from hours to several days) without any assistance.
Our nutrient IVs take approximately 30-90 minutes for the drip to be fully administered. Our patients find our IV lounge to be very relaxing, especially since they have the option to recline in comfortable, oversized reclining chairs.
While hormone imbalances and deficiencies are a common contributor to SD, they aren’t always what’s causing your SD. Our experienced staff will evaluate your symptoms and health to create a treatment plan that makes sense for you. In follow-up appointments we’ll evaluate your progress and make changes to your treatment plan as necessary.
For many men, SD medications fix the problem with the first dose. For men who have other underlying mental or physical health conditions, it might take some time to find the right mix of treatments to start reversing SD.
As we’ve explained, there’s not just one cause of SD. For men whose SD is caused by obesity, tobacco use, alcoholism, or other treatable physical or mental factors, fixing those problems may actually help you resolve the situation on your own. But in many cases, there are a combination of factors that contribute to SD.
Your coverage for SD depends on your individual health insurance and what treatments you are receiving. In many cases, oral prescriptions for SD are covered. Our experienced administrative staff will help you figure out how an SD treatment plan fits with your coverage, and we provide a range of payment options for things that insurance won’t cover.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) involves the use of hormones that are chemically identical to those the human body produces naturally. These hormones are often used to treat symptoms of hormone imbalance like low libido, mood swings, fatigue, weight gain and poor sleep.
The primary difference is that bioidentical hormones are structurally identical to natural hormones, whereas traditional HRT often uses synthetic hormones or hormones derived from animal sources, which may have a slightly different structure.
BHRT helps alleviate symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, fatigue, and loss of libido. It may also improve bone density, skin elasticity, and overall quality of life.
BHRT can be administered in various forms, at 4Ever Young, we’ll work with you to find the delivery system that works best for you. We offer creams, injections, oral options and pellets.
Some people notice improvements within a few weeks, while for others, it may take a few months to experience the full benefits. The timeline can vary based on the individual's condition and the therapy used.
During the process of completing a 4Ever Young Health profile, a healthcare provider will determine if your hormonal levels are below normal levels.
