We meet so many women who work hard to maintain a high quality of life through wellness-focused habits. From caring for their skin, to keeping up with exercise regimens, to eating well, women do a lot to keep themselves healthy and vibrant. But some issues can’t be prevented by lifestyle choices alone. Sometimes, bodies simply change and women are left wondering how they can retain a youthful feeling as elements of their vitality seem to be slipping through their fingers.

If you’ve felt like your moods are increasingly poor or unpredictable, your once-healthy libido is now low or even nonexistent, your intimate life is now unsatisfying or uncomfortable, or you can’t seem to lose weight, no matter how hard you work, you may be suffering from a drop in hormones. Hormones serve as messengers within the body, sending signals to different systems and affecting how cells and organs function. With fewer hormones present to send those signals, your body’s functions will gradually begin to change.

Although it’s natural for women to go through menopause in middle age—which typically results in a massive decrease in the hormones estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone—symptoms related to hormonal changes can appear both long before and long after menopause. Women who undergo surgical menopause (removal of the ovaries) at any age may also experience severe and sudden symptoms of hormone deficiency, and it’s surprisingly common for heathy women in their 30’s to experience a decline in hormones that can impact wellness.

Hormone imbalances and deficiencies are especially problematic when they keep you from doing things that are essential to a healthy, happy life. Sleeping soundly, working out, and being physically close to your partner are all in jeopardy when hormones aren’t in balance. The following hormone-related symptoms are some of the major culprits that affect a woman’s quality of life:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • More noticeable wrinkles
  • Vaginal dryness and decreased libido
  • Hot flashes
  • Night sweats
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Increased body fat
  • Loss of muscle tone
  • Bone density issues

If the symptoms we’ve described hit home, it’s time to come in for a free consultation about your hormone health.

Why Consider BHRT?

You don’t have to accept these symptoms as normal, or just a “part of getting older.” BHRT is the way to fight for your vitality, helping restore proper hormone levels to the body with substances that are indistinguishable from what your body would produce on its own.

The hormones typically replaced during BHRT are estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone—three major reproductive hormones. We offer estrogen and progesterone in either cream or pill form, both of which are compounded for you by a pharmacy specializing in BHRT. Our testosterone option is a convenient pellet. With personalized doses and close monitoring, you can get back to more optimal hormone levels, restore your youthful drive, and address the symptoms that may have been getting you down.

Women who are undergoing BHRT can also benefit from lifestyle changes, including stress management, more sleep, regular exercise and a healthy diet, as well as supplements that support the body as it gradually restores hormone balance.

  • Enhances quality of life
  • Relieves hot flashes
  • Boosts mood
  • Reduces mild depression
  • Improves quality of sleep
  • Improves short-term memory
  • Reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases in some women
  • Revitalizes sexuality
  • Slows some signs of aging
  • Improves muscle tone
  • Combats osteoporosis
  • Protects teeth

4Ever Young offers three hormone replacement options for women – cream, pill, or pellet – and what’s right for you depends on a variety of factors. We’ll work with you to determine how best to structure your BHRT regimen.

 Topical Cream

Topical Cream

Women use creams as a non-invasive way to get a dose of hormones through the skin. While estrogen and progesterone creams are generally easy to use, skin can sometimes be irritated by this method. We advise our patients to keep a close watch on their own body’s reaction to the medication. Applying a cream to the skin is called “transdermal” dosing, meaning that the medication is transported through the layers of the skin to arrive in the bloodstream. Dosing through the skin bypasses the liver and is generally considered to be easier on the body because of the lower dose needed. Application does take time and the amounts applied have to be precisely measured by the patient, so those looking for quick, effortless dosing might not prefer a cream.

Oral hormones are something you’re probably familiar with, since birth controls pills are typically composed of some combination of various forms of estrogen and progesterone. There are also progesterone-only pills. The doses of hormones in birth control pills aren’t targeted towards hormone replacement, so it’s better to use the expertise of a compounding pharmacy to arrive at a dose that’s perfect for BHRT purposes. Because an oral formulation has to go past the liver—which breaks down a large part of the hormones that pass through it—the dose of hormones has to be significantly higher. That means a larger burden on your system. Most women tolerate these doses just fine, but some women may want the topical alternative.

Pellet dosing is available for testosterone replacement. While you may think that testosterone is a “male” hormone, it’s actually needed in small quantities in the female body and women can experience symptoms when levels are low. Excess testosterone is also used by the female body to make estradiol, a form of estrogen. Our pellet, the 4Ever Pearl, is no larger than a grain of rice and is placed in the hip to release a steady dose of hormones over several months. The 4Ever Pearl’s natural testosterone is derived from wild yams and is formulated to match the testosterone produced by your body. Each batch of pellets is held to the highest standards of quality and is sterility and potency-tested to ensure safe, precise dosing.

Every patient is different. BHRT requires appropriate testing, examination and discussion of symptoms with a healthcare practitioner, which is why all of our hormone replacement regimens involve close monitoring to ensure that your hormone levels are within the ideal limits and confirm the results of treatment. We’ll be with you every step of the way as you work towards regaining your vitality.

Is BHRT for women safe?

When monitored and guided by trained medical professionals, BHRT is absolutely safe and can improve your health. Millions of women have used BHRT for decades to help them feel their best.

How long until I see and feel results?

This varies by patient. Many patients will see relief from some symptoms within the first two weeks, while others will take time to resolve. By the first check-in, most patients who adhere to their regimen have begun to see and feel compelling results.

Will I ever “get better”?

Because your body will never resume producing these hormones on its own, you’ll need to continue BHRT for as long as you want to keep experiencing the benefits of optimal hormone levels.

Do I need to change my lifestyle during treatment?

While treating your underlying hormone deficiencies and imbalances can have an incredible impact on your wellness, we also recommend beginning on a course of supplements, regular exercise, and a healthy diet. With these forces working together, you may begin to feel even better than you did twenty years ago!
