What is Dysport?

Dysport is a popular Anti-aging treatment which is designed to help combat fine lines and wrinkles. Like Botox, Dysport is made out of a naturally occurring protein, called botulinum toxin. When injected into the muscles that are responsible for causing creases, Dysport blocks the nerve signals to them. This temporarily paralyzes these muscles and allows the lines and wrinkles to fade away. Dysport can be used to address a number of concerns*, including:

  • Frown lines
  • Forehead creases
  • Bunny lines on the nose
  • Chin dimples
  • Drooping brows
  • Crow’s feet

What are treatments like?

When you come in for your free consultation, our highly trained practitioner will have you make faces to decide which muscles need to be targeted. After this, the Dysport will be injected into these muscles. The entire process takes about 30 minutes and you can return to your day’s activities right afterwards.

Does it hurt?

Nope! At most, you may feel a brief pinch and mild stinging during the initial injection, but this should fade quickly. We also offer topical anesthetics to help ensure that you are completely comfortable during your treatment.

What results can I expect?

Within 2 to 3 days, you should notice your fine lines and wrinkles beginning to fade. Results from an experienced practitioner are subtle and natural. You will still look like yourself, just refreshed. These results generally last up to 4 months before requiring a touch up.*

Are there any side effects?

While major side effects are rare, you may experience some temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising at the injection site. We can discuss some steps you can take before your treatment to help minimize the risk of these side effects.

Is Dysport different from Botox?

Yes it is. While both of these treatments are neurotoxins made from the same protein, they both contain different doses. This makes them better suited to correct different issues. Dysport tends to diffuse more, making it ideal for treating a wider area. Some patients choose to receive both treatments to optimize their results.*

Who is a good candidate?

Dysport is ideal for those who are looking to treat the lines and wrinkles that appear when making facial expressions, called static wrinkles. In addition, some younger patients choose to start receiving Dysport to help slow the appearance of these creases.*

*Individual results may vary.
