ABOUT JUVÉDERM

The Juvéderm family is known for having formulas with varying consistencies and strengths to treat various areas. All are made from Hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring substance which is also found in the human body. This substance delivers nutrients to the skin and helps hydrate the skin by holding in moisture. It also acts as a cushioning agent. When injected, Juvéderm treatment smooths wrinkles, plumps lips, and even boosts cheeks.

Additionally, Juvéderm stimulates treatment areas for natural production of collagen for long-lasting results. All Juvéderm lines come with an XC option with lidocaine to minimize pain during treatment. Treatment with Juvéderm is a great way to reverse some of the signs of aging without having to commit to weekly follow-ups.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS*

How long will Juvéderm treatment take?

Treatment with fillers like Juvéderm doesn’t take long. Many patients can be in and out of the office in an hour, and the procedure itself may take only about 20 minutes, depending on your specific regimen.

Will treatment with Juvéderm hurt?

This depends on the Juvéderm formula. XC formulas contain lidocaine, which will help keep you numb and minimize discomfort during and after injection. There will always be some discomfort associated with an injection, whether you’re treated with an XC formula or not. We apply a topical numbing solution to the area 30 minutes prior to treatment to help alleviate any discomfort.

How long will it take to see results from treatment with Juvéderm?

Results are usually seen instantly, though injection site swelling and irritation immediately after treatment may conceal results for up to two weeks for some people. Our medical team will give you guidance on post-treatment care.

How many Juvéderm treatments do I need?

Juvéderm treatment is not permanent. When the effects of treatment wear off, you may choose to come in for another round. Most people space these out by about 6 months. Based on your results, we’ll give you guidance on how often you should undergo treatment to maintain a youthful look.

How long will treatment with Juvéderm last?

Juvéderm treatments are temporary. Depending on the formula used, you results might last up to 4 months, or potentially over a year. Check with our 4Ever Young medical team to find out how long you can expect results to last for your specific treatment regimen.

What other treatments may I need to enhance my Juvéderm results?

Juvéderm is a filler, so it will add volume and minimize wrinkles where it’s used, depending on the Juvéderm product in question. If you’re dealing with skin texture issues, a chemical peel or custom facial can address your needs. If you’re noticing that your deepest lines are related to your expressions, especially on the forehead, Botox or Dysport might be an additional treatment to consider to relax the muscle movements that cause those lines.
